Day 1- Arrive in Tanzania
Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro airport you will be met by a Nordic Travel Professional Driver Guide holding a sign board with your booking name clearly written. After checking that you have all your luggage and belongings he will take you to one of our safari 4 WD Land Cruisers and transfer you to your lodge . This Driver Guide will now be with you for your Safari.
Day 2 – Tarangire National Park
Pick up from your Arusha overnight place. After a safari briefing, we depart for Tarangire National Park. This is the classic Africa of lore with shimmering acacia stands, old baobab trees, Masai herds and herds of elephant. You will arrive in time for lunch at your lodge. Afternoon game viewing in Tarangire National Park, you will drive back to the lodge just before dusk.
Day 3 – Lake Manyara National Park
After breakfast depart for Lake Manyara, nestled on the floor of the Great Rift Valley. You will arrive in time for lunch at Kirurumu Lodge and an afternoon game viewing in Lake Manyara National Park, with an option of stopping in the market town of Mto Wa Mbu or to visit a local school for Masai children, en route.
Day 4 – Ngorongoro
After an early breakfast you will have a morning game drive in Lake Manyara National Park then we carve our way through the forested slopes of the Ngorongoro Highlands, en route to Ndutu Lodge. We stop at Olduvai Gorge to visit the site where Mary and Louis Leakey first discovered the remains of Zinjanthropus Bosei, a distant ancestor of man believed to be 1.8 million years old, Australopithecus Bosei, the ‘Nutcracker Man’, a species that became extinct about 1 million years ago and fossilised footprints that date back 3,6 million years. An afternoon game viewing in the Ngorongoro area.
Day 5 – Serengeti National Park
A full day to explore the Serengeti, the most famous National Park in Africa. Our driver-guide will choose our route based on his extensive knowledge of the park and local conditions but the Serengeti rarely disappoints. We carry our packed lunch with us so as to make the most of the day, but our trip might include a trail along the banks of the Grumeti River in search of basking lions, tracking cheetah through the Gol Kopjes or hunting leopard along the Seronera River. Return to the lodge before dusk
Day 6 – Ngogrongoro - Karatu
After breakfast we depart for the Ngorongoro Crater, with a packed lunch enroute, we then descend down the 2000-ft walls of the Crater, a World Heritage Site and home to nearly 25,000 animals, for a game drive. Here you have a very real chance of spotting the big five: lion, elephant, endangered black rhino, buffalo and leopard plus countless other African mammal species. We drive to the lodge just before dusk
Day 7 – Ngorongoro Crater
A full day in Ngorongoro Crater Area and 6 hours in the crater game viewing, with picnic lunch, gives us time to explore in detail this fascinating wildlife amphitheatre. We then descend down the 2000-ft walls of the Crater, a World Heritage Site and home to nearly 25,000 animals, for a game drive. This caldera, formed by a volcano sinking, hosts a unique cross-section of eco-systems, from soda lake to savannah and is home to almost every major species of African mammal. Our presence does not threaten the wildlife making for an exhilarating proximity to the game that we rarely encounter elsewhere.
Day 8 – Arusha/Departure
An early morning game drive before returning to Arusha for lunch before transfer to Kilimanjaro airport or extension to Zanzibar
